Hey Siskaholics!
It's been a while since posting on here and it's finally a new year. Hello 2016! It's time for an update:
To review what is now past I...
- Turned 18
- Graduated high school
- Became a College student
- Slacked uploading on my YouTube Channel
There was many personal drama that happened in my last year of high school. I learned that you will lose people in your life that you want to hold onto, but you can't. If people walk out of your life, let them walk! You can't stop them. Let that person go and become a better you and show them who you are without them.
I have a problem of always looking back at my past and seeing all the things I did wrong mean absolutely nothing now. And I think to myself why did I even bother with dealing with that particular situation? Yes, that problem probably put in a place where I am now...and where I am now is happy. I've made new friends, fell in love with my best friend, and am living life to the fullest as possible.
In 2014 I took that one step of courage by posting my first video on YouTube and now I have over 100 subscribers. It may not seem like a lot but think of it as going to a movie theater that has been promoted so many time, bunch of people are there. In my case, people are watching me. I was afraid of being made fun of, but then I realized as we grow up we all have our side comments about others good or bad. You can't do anything about but accept it and move on. So that's what I did. I put my creativity to making videos and as much I was afraid that people were't going to like it, I enjoyed doing it. It was one of those relief feelings of starting new.
Taking the idea of courage into 2015, I slowed down and got lazy. My upload frequency became slower because so many original ideas were already taken. That's when I came upon Tumblr. I've always had a Tumblr but I never used it until I saw that there was a lot of motivational quotes an pictures. For example: I wanted to get more in shape and seeing that people on Tumblr with their before and after pictures, I did just that. Started off with easy things to do at home and eventually started running outside. It isn't a set in stone routine but it work for me. I saw this on Tumblr because I became so lazy I didn't even want to stand up and do the work. That was my first step and I am body confident as ever before. I do have stretch marks, bumps and bruises etc. But in order to feel god about yourself, you have to love yourself too!
It is now 2016, and I believe that if I set goals and put my mind in the right direction I can accomplish great things to occur. Using courage and confidence I am sure I will get to where I want to be in life and some say that you should let guide you where to go but I think that since it is your life you have total control of how you want to live it. Just to clarify what I mean about "control" is to control what you are doing and how you are going to get there; because life only provides time. What you do with it is obviously up to you.
Here are some things I've been doing to help me that might help you...
If you're unorganized, use a planner and if you want to go even more out make your own planner. I've recently got into making bullet journals and all journal-ing, as a matter of fact. I currently use two special ones: one in red from the Kate Spade collection that writes "Paint the Town Red" and I use it as a doodle journal just to jot things down or if you're really bored and you just want to doodle [hence the phrase "doodle journal"]. The other is a Bullet journal that I recently got from my boyfriend for Christmas, and it's basically a "Do-It-Yourself" planner which is SO super helpful to me. You can add different pages unlike in a regular planner.
If you sense that you need a little change, re-arrange your room furniture. I usually do this either within months or a week before the new year even starts. The feeling of seeing your room in a different change can feel great. It makes me feel like I am living in the new year and accepting change as it occurs.
And since we're talking about change and organization, when was the last time you re-vamped your closet? My mother and I currently part-take in where we get rid of old clothes and all clothes in general that we haven't worn within years to the "Big Brother Big Sister Donation". It's funny how much clothes we buy but barely even wear. There's also something called a "blessing bag" that helps people who live on the streets. Get a big zip block bag and fill it with band-aids, tissues, a toothbrush, toothpaste, and why not a tampon, etc. I recently saw this on Hayley Kiyoko's Instagram and thought it was great idea to help those that can't help themselves.
Well I think that covers most things in my life that are happening up to date. Remember to follow me on social media to see what I'm up to. I am still currently adding new stuff to this website from the old one like many of you have told me to bring back the jotting it down page and I will certainly do that! As always videos on YouTube will be going up as soon as I edit them! But here's to 2016 being one of the very best!
Have a wanderlust day!
With love and hugs,
Sis xoxo
